Skin Care Routine

Hey Girls! Hope your all doing amazingly great, the weekend has finally arrived for us here in the Emirates and I have been looking forward to it from the start of the week. Getting to sleep in a little is what I look to and also spending more time with my family!
Ok so I have been going through and reading a lot of blogs, and I noticed that there were posts on skin care routines and so I thought I'd like to share with you my skin care routine and give you some info on my favourite products. Now we all have different skin types, but I believe that it goes wayyy beyond that. We might fall under an umbrella but under certain environments and physical factors our skin is affected in many different ways. In the summer time, I get a lot of oil and shine on my T-Zone, but then during hormonal times I get little break outs here and there. Then in winter, I get super dry skin. Obviously, as we are getting older our skin changes and we are told that the earlier we start looking after our skin the better it will be for us in the long run. So we have a huge array of products to choose from and it can get really frustrating trying to find the products that work for you, not to mention costly! I am still trying to figure out how my grandmother who never used any products on her face managed to stay acne free as well wrinkle free until her late 50's. But as for me I had a huge problem with my skin when I was in my teens, but thankfully my dermatologist helped me to take control of my skin. Now, in my mid twentys' I don't have much of an issue with my skin but it still has a few problems and this is my take on how I try to take care of it.

Step One: Cleansing.
Cleansing is soo important and I'm sure you all already know that! I will admit that I am very lazy and don't always do the morning and night routine. Mornings, I get a hold of my cleanser and everyone is different, but I use My Clinique Soap Bar during the Summer as I get super oily skin. In Winter I feel that the soap just dries my skin up even more, so I use the Clinique Rinse off Foaming Cleanser Mousse. I love Clinique products on my skin, as I really feel a difference when I use them and I feel they have a great range of products for all skin types.

Step Two: Toner.
Now I only use my toner in Summer as thats the only time I feel that my skins needs it due to the excess oil. For this I use my Garnier Pure Active Oil Remover Cleansing Toner. I love Garnier skin products as they have proven to be very effective for my skin and they are drug store so not so $$ which is great!

Step Three: Moisturise.
This step is a must and I can not afford to skip it! And my skin not being on its best behaviour all the time, I have one that I use in the Summer and one that I use in the Winter. During Summer I use my Clinique Super Defense moisturiser alongside my Clinique Redness Solutions daily protective base as it gives my skin the moisture it needs without the extra oil and at the same time reduces redness (another one of my problems). In winter, I feel that the Clinique Super Defense Moisturiser does not give my thirsty skin enough moisture and I have found that Clean & Clear Morning Energy Moisturiser works wonders on my skin as not only does it moisturise but it gives a great glow and at the same time it smells amazing and its cheap!

Also, as part of my skin care routine I try to exfoliate twice a week and for that I use St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub, I feel my skin gets silky soft using this and I love the smell so yummy and another bonus its cheap :).

Last I thought I would mention what I use to remove my make up as it is important to remove make up off your skin. There are many negatives to not taking off your make up at night and they include breaking out and getting sty's. For me I have used Loreal Gentle Make Up Remover for Eyes and Lips, but to me its just greasy and I'm not a fan of more grease on my skin and so I was looking for a new make up remover that wasn't going to break the bank so I decided to try out the Neutrogena Deep Clean Make-Up Remover and let me tell you it is great! I love it, it take off all make-up easily (yep even water proof) and it makes your skin feel soft and it has a nice smell to it. So if your on the look out for a new make up remover I say check this one out!

So there you have it, I hope this post has helped you out a little and also I suggest talking to a dermatologist, who really understands your skins requirements and can point you in the right direction. Also, if you feel that you have the same skin requirements as mine then I feel its worthwhile to check these products out!

Hope you found this post helpful and if you have any other products that have been working for you let me know!
