Review: Make Up For Ever HD Microperfecting Primer in 02 Mauve

Hey Girls!

Well May has come and gone and now we are half way through the year! I don't know about you guys but I feel like the days are flying-could be that I have been super busy as I am in the process of relocating and taking a vacation and on top of all that organising I am working and being a mum! :) No complaints here though! So anyway today's post is a review on the Make up For Ever HD Microperfecting Primer, which I spoke a little about in my Foundation Routine post- so if you haven't read that check it out! So anyway I got a few questions regarding the primer and I thought I would do an in depth review for you guys!

Make Up For Ever describes the HD Face Range as "innovative formulas to create a new generation of make up which is both invisible on HD cameras and to the naked eye''.
The HD Microperfecting Primer is supposed to work just as a skin care product, "the HD Primer nourishes, moisturises and softens the skin, creating a glowing effect. It creates a protective layer on the skin allowing the foundation to glide on easily and to last longer. Unlike standard skin care creams, the HD Primer dries quickly, allowing make up to be applied immediately. The HD Primer comes in 6 color-correcting shades and one transparent shade to correct skin imperfections. The colored pigments are absorbed by the skin for an invisible correction".

Image off Google

The HD Primers come in the following shades each for a specific purpose:
0- Neutral: Add natural luminosity to the skin
1- Green: Minimizes redness
2- Mauve: Counteracts swallow undertones
4- Caramel: Combats ashy looking skin in medium to dark complexions
5- Blue: Adds radiance to fair skin and reducing appearance of minor imperfections
6- Apricot: Lightens darker complexions
7- Pink: Brightens the complexion and counteracts with swallow undertones

Is it just me or have you too noticed that MUFE always skips a number in their ranges?!?!

So anyway, after gathering all the information I needed I headed over to Paris Gallery and walked straight up to the MUFE counter ready to get the primer I had decided would suit to my needs (1-Green) and after I asked the consultant for the green primer she began telling me that this was not the shade for me, and she managed to change my mind and talked me into getting 2-Mauve. Now looking back I think I didnt have that great looking skin- although it wasn't a tragic mistake!

Packaging:

Packaging is very sleek, frosted plastic bottle with a pump. I love this about the primer as I feel it is much easier to shake the bottle as well as take out as much product as you need.

Formula:

The primer isn't creamy or watery in consistency and it is lightweight.  The primer has this amazing smell, some people don't like fragrance in their cosmetics but I don't mind it-so long as it is not overpowering! I really enjoy the smell its a soft floral scent, I just cant figure out what it is exactly.

Application:

I use this Primer after I have moisturized and I apply this using my CLEAN fingers. You can use a brush to blend it into the skin although I believe the formula is so smooth and soft that it glides onto the skin beautifully and it dries amazingly fast.

Price:
$34 for 1.01oz ( In the UAE I bought it for around 160 AED)

Verdict:

I am going to be totally honest when I say that I have a love/hate relationship with this primer. It is great in terms of packaging and application, although the formula seems to decide that on some days its will make my skin super soft and glowing and on other days it make me look a little ghostly. On good days I can apply this just over my moisturizer and my skin looks great. This primer also is good in helping my foundation go on smoothly and hold it in place. I have been wondering why I have the different results with this product and I believe it could be that it is not the right shade primer for me and it probably makes my skin look great on the days when my complexion is not great. Still trying to figure that out, although overall it is a really good primer, just make sure you get the shade that gives you the results you want and need.

Have you tried MUFE HD primer? Which shade do you have? Does it work for you? Whats your favourite primer?

Have a great day!

Ferrarucci 40 Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hey Girls! Hope your all well. So I have a review on a brand which is quite popular here in the UAE, Ferrarucci. Ferrarucci is actually a German cosmetics brand and I am not sure if they are available across Europe as their website does not actually have any info, but if you can get your hands on this make up then get to it. They are amazing!! Super pigmented, long lasting, range of finishes and you get them all at an amazing price. I bought mine from a cosmetics store in a local mall, and for the 40 eyeshadows palette for 120 dirhams. Now as for the palette you get a great range of colours and they can be used dry and wet. The colour payoff is amazing on these beauties but they are more shimmery eyeshadows so if your looking for matte then these are not for you, but I love shimmer so these are just great for me! I wanted to swatch these for you but my camera was not doing them justice so once I get a better camera (hopefully soon) I will put them up. Till then enjoy these :)

I was soo impressed by this palette that I went out and got some more of their products which I will also be reviewing soon, so stay tuned :)
Have you guys got any brands of make up that aren't available internationally but are popular in your country?

Enjoy,

Star.

NYX: For Your Eyes Only- Brown Eyes Palette Review

Hey girls!! Hope your all doing great :) I am already looking forward to the weekend as here in the UAE we have Friday and Saturday as our weekend and its just around the corner!!! Well anyway I was looking through my make-up and I thought I would do a post/review on my go to make up palette for quick smokey eyes, natural looks or a quick dramatic. This is usually when my hubby decides on a whim to go out and it is all rush rush, getting my son ready, deciding what to wear and then how I can do my make up. I seem to find that on these occasions when I haven't had the time to think ahead what I'll be wearing I reach for my NYX palette! I just love it! Its compact- fits into any size hand bag or clutch and great for travelling. The colours are amazing, super pigmented and they have a variety of colours which is really good for on the go quick make up looks and here in the UAE where it can get very hot and humid these babies stay on really well!! I have taken the compact with me but honestly have never had to touch up my make up. Oh and it comes with a mirror which is great for checking everything is all in place-no food stuck in the teeth :P

The palette has a dark brown with gold flecks in it, a taupey brown, gold/coral, champagne, lilac with silver flecks, a deep purple, a green, a darker coral, a matte brown and matte light gold. I love the range of colours and finishes this palette has, my only small complaint is the fall out but its not tragic!
NYX has a range of the palettes for brown eyes, blue eyes, hazel eyes and many more in the collection. The best thing is they are CHEAP!!

So if your looking for your go to palette I suggest you take a look at these at your local NYX stockier. Here in the UAE Lifestyle store have them and at the moment they are having 25% off so you can get them for 54 dirhams!

Have you tried these out? What do you think of them? Which one is your favourite?

Rimmel Glam Eyes HD Review

Hey everyone, so I am trying to get through a number of products to review for you guys and so I decided I would bring you my thoughts on the relativley new Rimmel Glam Eyes HD Eyeshadow palettes. Now I really love some of Rimmels products and I find that for the price they are quite smooth in application and texture but also they have a great colour pay off-especially their eye kohl pencils. So once I tried the tester for these babies in store, I was hooked I wanted every single palette but I held back and decided on two of the five that were there and I'm glad I didn't get them all. WHY?? Well as great as the colours and consistency of the eyeshadows the packaging is in my opinion horrendous!!!

So I picked up 005 English Rose and 006 Purple Reign. English Rose has a pinky-gold shade along with a brown and taupey shades and Purple Reign is just that a range of purples. The colours are absolutley gorgeous they are amazing on but getting to the little triangles with your brush doesn't help unless you use the sponge applicator tip to get in there but you still manage to get into the other color.
The Rimmels emblem of the union jack didn't work well as the colours are really to get to- except for the color in the middle which is in my opinion very annoying. But for the eyeshadows alone they are amazingly smooth and soft, hardly any fall out and they last a long time, (I have only worn these over my NYX eyeshadow base). In the whole range I find the colours are amazing and some of them actually remind of a few colours in the Urban Decay Naked palette. I would only recommend these to you who don't mind the challenge of getting to the colours in the smaller triangles but I really wish Rimmel had these palettes differently even the old style square quad would have been forgivable for such great eyeshadow quality.

What do you guys think? Have you tried these? Whats your favourite Rimmel product?

Its CLINIQUE gift time :)

Helloo girls! I have promised for a while now many reviews and unfortunately I ended up getting sick which set me back for a whole month but thankfully I am getting back on track and I am feeling much better, so that's when I got to starting on these reviews. So a month ago, Clinique at my local AREEJ store was having a gift with purchase and so I thought I might as well stock up on my FAV primer from Clinique. My complexion is quite fair but I am very sensitive and get red faced very quickly especially if its hot and in the climate here in Dubai, Cliniques Redness Solutions daily protective base with SPF 15 is God send. It applies smoothly, blends beautifully and absorbs into the skin without having yourself looking like a green Grinch. As its a primer it works great under your favourite foundation but this beauty works great even when applied over moisturiser, I have a lot of people compliment my skin. So anyway as they were having a gift with purchase I picked one tube up along with the Lip Chubby Stick in Whopin' Watermelon. I first seen this in Pixiwoo tutorial and I had to have it- natural everyday light lip gloss- so this was a great deal. So for these two items I got the Gift Pack.

Included in the Gift Pack:
- Clinique Cosmetic Bag (which I personally find super cute).
- Colour surge quad Eyeshadow palette (It has a single shade from strawberry fudge duo, single shade from pink chocolate quad, chocolate chip ans stone violet they are nicely pigmented but stone violet feels a tad chalky).
- Clinique High Impact in 01 Black Mascara Sample size (This is a great mascara, the brush is great formula fantastic leaving you with natural feeling lashes just more dramatic and I love it).
- Clinique All About Eyes cream (this is a super cool light weight cream for under eyes but i don't know if i see any improvements but it does have a nice feel).
-Clinique Rinse off Foam Cleanser Sample size (Generous size and great cleanser I have used it to remove my make up also and I feel my face feels clean without feeling tight).
- Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothie in Strawberry bliss (I love love LOVEEEEE this its great nice tint of colour, not sticky and my lips feel super moisturised with the tiniest amount).

All in all, I love Clinique products I feel they are great quality and not that expensive and when they have these gift with purchase they really have a good range of products and they are not tiny samples.

Hope you enjoyed this, how do you guys feel about Clinique products? What is your favourite product?

Loreal: Infallible Eyeshadow

Selam and Hello ladies!

So the weekend has finally arrived after a long busy week! As usual I had some shopping to do and at the mall near me I stepped into Lifestyle store which is currently having a 25% discount on cosmetics and so I thought I'd go in and check it out. Now I have been reading and watching a lot of product reviews on Loreals Infallible eyeshadows and I really couldnt wait for them to debut here in Dubai and to my surprise I spotted the loreal infallible eyeshadows and I was excited-for a split second!! Because after reaching the stand I realized they had brought in only three colors!!! THREE like seriously there has been a lot of hype in the U.S about the colors and I already had in mind the colors I wanted but all we got here was the Eternal Black, Forever Pink and All night Blue and with the promotion they were now 68 dirhams I wasnt impressed at all, I was waiting for Purple Obsession, Hourglass Beige, Permanent Khaki and Endless Chocolate. Oh well thats how it is sometimes, but I did pick up a few other things that I will be sharing with you guys in my next post.

So what do you think about these infallible eyeshadows? People in the UAE are you also unimpressed?

REVIEW: Diorskin Poudre Shimmer - Amber Diamonds

Selam and Hello my lovely readers!

Its here! So as you can guess from the title my review I spoke about in my last post is about this very product Dior Amber Diamonds- Ultra-shimmering all over face powder. Ever since I seen this baby on one my fav bloggers (Temptalia)  and youtube (Tanya Burr) I just knew I had to have it. Now you know you think Dior and you think......well actually you know it will be pricey BUT believe me it is soo worth it. So anyway I did not go out and buy it straight away, I was trying to justify my reasons for buying it but one day while shopping during the Dubai Shopping Festival I gave in! So I went into Paris Gallery and went straight to the counter and got it. I was so excited I couldn't wait to get home and play around with my new baby :) I get home and carefully open the box and I pull out a compact encased in a plush velvet pouch and I was just smiling in pleasure and delight, then I open it up and there they were- the most beautiful shades smiling back at me! Now using this product I must say a little can go a long way and dont be fooled by the word SHIMMER because the great thing about this is when you put this on it is like you have just put butter onto hot toast- it goes onto your skin leaving you feel amazing and glowing naturally not like some products leaving you look like a disco ball. I also love how this product is so versatile it can be used as a blush, a highlighter, bronzer and you can also use these shades as eyeshadow-can you tell how much I love it?

Basically, I love this product and yes at 239 dirhams it may seem like a lot but trust me it is worth it cause you can use this product in numerous ways and also you dont need a lot of product so it will last you a long time.

Have a look for yourself or better yet try it out!

Hope you enjoyed this and please subscribe for more!
